Art as beauty, solace and divinity – why this mother-son duo launched a joint art exhibition

A recent exhibition at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in Bengaluru boasted the oil and acrylic draws of mother-son duo Raadhaa SG and Hemanth Vamanshankar. The artworks are priced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 30,000.

The aesthetic journey

“My mother and I began exploring artistry in 2002 under the able counseling of our coach, Bablu Ray. Having learnt and experimented with various media, we chose to focus on oil and acrylic, ” Hemanth excuses, in a chitchat with YourStory.

The showcase of their geniu is the culmination of their efforts over the years. The exposed employments show their fondness for mood and spirituality.

“Art and ship have always fascinated me since infancy. However, the opportunity to learn formally simply materialised in the year 2002 after having quit my job as a banker, ” Raadhaa includes. “The joint exhibition has blossomed after virtually two decades of learning, unlearning and experimentation, ” she proudly says.

Hemanth describes artistry as a chassis of musing, relaxation, uncovering and positivity. “After facing the challenges as a surgeon during weekdays, artwork alleviates and allays me down as I draw during the weekends, ” he says.

“Art is my joy and gaiety, an expression of my inner child. It takes me into a stillnes zone and a feeling of timelessness. More than obsession, it is meditation for me, ” Raadhaa describes.

Hemanth has performed petroleum, acrylic, and pierce illustrations. “Initially, I used to reproduce art created by parties I follow. Over the years, however, I are just beginning squandering portraits I captivate as a photographer, ” he explains.

Raadhaa has learnt a range of forms: Tanjore depicts, murals, pottery, oil, watercolours, acrylic, and mixed media. “What is important is that I give life to each of my job, and that it speaks out to each and every viewer, ” she adds.

Impact and appreciation

For Hemanth, success comes from bringing happiness to audiences and recognition of his own unique style and technique. “The contentment I get knowing this is more important than the money wages I gain from the sales starts, ” he says.

“Success implies both creation and attainment of your goal as well as the realisation of its ultimate and permanent quality. If the ultimate evaluate is salary, sympathy is the permanent value which strokes your internal center, ” Raadhaa describes.

Both craftsmen call for a broader gratitude of skill in culture, beyond rich gatherings. “People in India are gradual to recognise the time, exertion and money invested in each artwork, and want to purchase at the lowest price, ” Hemanth observes.

“This is quite opposite to the situation in developed countries, where arts and craftsmen are immensely recognized and respected. They consider artwork as a organize of such investments and artworks are cured and handed down generations, ” he adds.

He calls for more art affairs and pulpits to raise artists and the public together. “More importance should be given to art by the government in the form of art museums, ” Hemanth suggests.

India has a great and lengthy history of culture, knowledge and heritage, which is always represented in its art and planes. “We can blend ancient sense with new-age digitisation and technology to rediscover and recreate it, ” Raadhaa advises.

Art in the pandemic era

The pandemic days are particularly tough for society, with physicians right at the frontline.

“Working as a healthcare provider during the course of its pandemic, stress grades were at their heyday. Weekend art and painting had taken a backseat for me, especially in the second ripple, ” Hemanth recalls.

“However, impetu from my mother and professor genuinely cured, and slowly I got back to my good old days of weekend decorating. So artwork for me was a stress buster, and soothed and appeased me during the course of its pandemic, ” Hemanth affirms.

“Many who had a passion and prejudice for skill but had no opportunity before the pandemic, started working on art- especially those who were too depressed with lockdown, ” Raadhaa adds.

Art makes armistice, solace, delight, hope, and friendship. “Though the pandemic has affected society, commonwealths and the world as a whole like wildfire, I confined myself and focussed on painting. The outcome is our exhibition, ” Raadhaa explains.

Both craftsmen have sends for gatherings and aspiring artists, in terms of observation and technique.

“Be persistent in your efforts. Explore many mediums in the artwork orbit before concentrates on the one you enjoy. Try to learn from the best people in the field of art and you will surely excel, ” Hemanth advises.

Art is not just for business or something to learn. “When artwork is created by creators, their mind, person, character, sentiment and soul are put into it. Art becomes musing and a great masterpiece will be created, ” Raadhaa adds.

She quotes John Keats in this regard: “A thing of appeal lasts forever.”
